No one offers you a better value when it comes to buying digital versions of the U.S. Federal census records! Although C.M.E. has been offering blue/black diazo copies of microfilm for many years. We felt we needed to wait until digital technology could reproduce a image that compared favorably to a microfilm copy. Well, that day has finally arrived.

Is a digital microfilm image better than the original microfilm?

No. But it's pretty good. How's that for honesty. You will never see other companies tell you in print that their digital images are not as good as a microfilm copy. Makes you wonder why doesn't it?

In our own case, we tell you this because we want to let you decide which version to purchase. If you like the convenience of researching these records at home buy the DVD. For the vast majority of what you do, it will work just fine. If, however, you need or want the sharpest clearest images possible, stick to the microfilm.
